Abdullah's Story
Abdullah is from Laurelton, New York and still goes by the name of Clifford Qualo legally. Many may remember the guy who wore the coattails to the 1975 graduation, the smiling kid with the large red afro (dyed by my love interest and my sister as a joke) who always wore t-shirts and jeans to school.
I am single(divorced) but currently engaged to be married to a woman from Birmingham. I have three children, two by my prior marriage and one preceding that. His schools include Springfield Gardens High School, Kaplan University (online)Criminal Justice, Dean's list) and courses through the University of Maryland via the U.S. Army in which I served 15.5 years before deciding to go another route. I have never worked with the Haitian National Police as a member but did manage security for Chevron-Texaco in Haiti for 3 years, during which time I aided that police organization (along with my then boss) to procure necessary equipment/materiel in order to insure mission performance. My primary responsibilities were to insure operational security for Chevron-Texa...Expand for more
co Haiti including closely working with the U.S. Coast Guard, the International Maritime Organization, the U.S. Embassy and others. Prior to that, I taught English from 3rd Grade level through University Student as well as other subjects.
I lived in Port-au-Prince, Haiti for 16 years and basically had to re-learn American culture.
I returned to the U.S. in August of 2008 and have lived in Birmingham, Alabama since June 2009.
I recently discovered that my name "Qualo" goes back first to Quallo (in Jamaica) then to Kohanim, the Levitical priest line. Interspersed between now and then, a Portguese king.
Abdullah's interests include Ansbach Grizzlies Football. Music he likes includes Patti LaBelle, Brandy, Brian McKnight. My favorite musician is and always has been Jimi Hendrix.
One of Abdullah's favorite quotes is:"When a King is lost in the woods, what more is he than any other man? A beggar's dog would bark at his power and the beggar himself would not bow down to his greatness...".
More about Abdullah:"Most don't believe it when I tell them...".
